Carera Windows was involved in a major project where they put themselves forward to help drastically improve the home of a family that truly deserved the support and help from the BBC DIY SOS team and all the volunteers.
Contact Us View MoreDue to a devastating change in the Chambers family, the children and grandmother were left with a semi-detached 2 bedroom home to reside in, meaning they had to share rooms.
For series 29, the BBC DIY SOS team stepped in, along with volunteered support from local tradespeople and residents of West Bromwich. This included Carera Windows and their team of double glazing installers and home improvement experts.
Our team at Carera Windows worked with other local businesses to create a new and improved West Bromwich property. Specialising in double glazing, we worked on the house by fitting brand new casement windows, bi-fold doors and a composite door.
In just 9 days, a house was built.
In just 9 days, the property was transformed, and the Chambers home was extended with a new two-storey side extension, a newly landscaped garden and energy efficient double glazing.
It was a pleasure to be able to partake in this event and to help a family in need with our expertise and double glazing installations. Not only do they have extra rooms, a larger kitchen, garden and living area, they also are well equipped with double glazing to last a lifetime.
The West Bromwich community and BBC came together and changed a families life for the better.
With a variety of double glazing furniture and hardware available, we opted for handles and hinges that would complement the profiles perfectly. A silver handle compliments the WarmCore bi-fold doors and white uPVC handles were well matched to the uPVC windows profile.
All of the windows and doors used throughout this project offer high energy efficiency values. Not only this, but they are so well built that they will protect the family from any intruders, as well as the natural elements. They will be able to enjoy a temperature controlled room, condensation-free windows, and slim sightlines.
Trickle Vents were installed with the bi-fold doors and uPVC windows to allow for natural ventilation whilst the windows and doors stay closed. We would recommend adding trickle vents to almost all windows and doors that we install to help control natural ventilation.
